The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) now requires all businesses and entities with an ABN to nominate their registered tax agent before we can formally access your records and begin acting on your behalf.
We appreciate your assistance with this important step in the onboarding process.
Step 1 – Set Up Your Digital ID
You will first need to set up your Digital ID using the myGovID app. Please ensure you establish either a:
- Standard identity strength, or
- Strong identity strength
Step 2 – Link Your Digital ID to Your Business
Once your myGovID is established, you will need to link it to your ABN using the Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).
If you are a company director, public officer, or other “primary person” for the entity, additional identity verification with the ATO may sometimes be required.
Step 3 – Nominate Us as Your Tax Agent
After logging into Online Services for Business, please:
- Go to Profile
- Select Agent details
- Choose Add nomination
- Search using either:
- Our Registered Agent Number (RAN), or
- Our practice name
- Complete the declaration and submit the nomination
Step 4 – Notify Our Office
Once the nomination has been submitted, please notify us so we can finalise the linking process. Please note that the ATO does not send us an automatic notification when a nomination is completed.
You may also wish to save or download the confirmation PDF and email it to us for our records.

Important Timeframes
- Once submitted, the nomination remains active for 28 days
- If required, the nomination period can be extended once for a further 28 days
- Once accepted, we will be able to manage all authorised tax accounts on your behalf, including income tax matters
